Busy-Bite: Southwest Airlines, Doing Good While Doing Well

In a recent WSJ article (www.wsj.com/articles/southwest-airlines-offers-extra-pay-to-avoid-july-travel-snags-11624992632), Southwest is doubling worker pay to avoid disruptions in service during peak travel times. This is the sort of flexibility that is good to see from a company. However, this really is not a huge surprise as Southwest has been known to have a sharp focus on its Human Resources and culture, which has been a huge part of the advantages of its service since inception.

Southwest is an example of a company that understands that people drive the value creating activities and responds accordingly.

Kudos to Southwest Airlines. A shining example of taking appropriate action to a threat that many companies are facing (looking at you chain restaurants).
